  • 6 Ounces mozzarella pearls (fresh)
  • 1 baguette (demi)
  • ½ Cup basil pesto
  • gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 Ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Fill a silicone skull mold with mozzarella pearls and bake for 6 to 7 minutes until melted but not browned.
  3. Press the mozzarella firmly into molds, soak up moisture, and let cool completely.
  4. Increase oven temperature to 475°F. Halve cherry tomatoes, arrange cut side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, then roast for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Slice the baguette into ½-inch pieces and toast for about 8 to 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Mix basil pesto with black food coloring to achieve desired color.
  7. Spread black pesto over toasted baguette slices and return them to the oven for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  8. Top each bruschetta with roasted cherry tomatoes and mozzarella skulls before serving.
