  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (freshly grated plus extra for serving)

Instructions

  1. 1. Cook 8 ounces of rigatoni pasta in boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. 2. In a large skillet, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1/2 diced yellow onion and optional red pepper flakes; sauté for 5-7 minutes until onions are soft.
  3. 3. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves for another minute before adding 1 cup of pumpkin puree. Sauté briefly.
